Permissions and attribution clinic

Apply explicitly supplied fictional asset terms and distinguish permission, attribution and a separate consent purpose.

1. Predict first

The supplied licence permits noncommercial use with credit only. A company wants the asset in its revenue-supported app’s free tier. Does credit alone authorise that use?

Change it · step through · explain

Change an input, predict what will happen, then advance one step. Read why the state changes, reset and experiment. This fixed teaching model does not save progress or award XP.

Ready · Make a prediction

Ready to experiment
  1. Input 1noncommercialWaiting
  2. Input 2commercialWaiting
  3. Input 3yesWaiting

Ready to experiment

Why: Predict the first change, then advance one step.

Try this: Keep credit yes and choose no-permission. Why is credit insufficient?

2. Build your procedure

Build a permission checklist for an asset and a separate data-use checklist. Record licence, intended use, required credit, source and whether the data purpose matches consent.

Use AP CSP pseudocode, a language you know, or precise plain language. Your code is not executed here. Use the classroom assignment to save your response.

3. Check boundaries

noncommercial terms; commercial use; credit yesNot authorised by these termsCredit does not remove the use restriction.
no-permission; either use; credit yesPermission requiredAcknowledgement alone grants no reuse rights.

4. Explain and reflect

Why is an available download not evidence that every use is permitted?

Model limits: Applies only the supplied fictional terms, not an actual licence interpretation or legal determination. It does not grant permissions or send data.
